The Parent Involvement page is required if the district’s public Title I allocation is $500,000 or greater and Title I funds are retained.  Note: If Title I funds are not retained, the screen can still be accessed, but the fields will not be editable.

You may also click on one of the page links in the left-hand column to go to the help screen for the corresponding page.

Warning:  If you enter data and do not save your data, it will not be saved when you close the page.  You can choose to save the information after filling out the Parent Involvement page, but it is recommended to save occasionally so that information will not be lost.
 

Set Aside for District/Set Aside for Schools

The amount listed in the ‘Parent Involvement Set Aside for District’ field is pre-populated from the Building Allocations, Step 3 page.The amount listed in the ‘Minimum Parent Involvement Set Aside for District Schools’ field is calculated for districts.

Parent Involvement Set Aside Allocations

The parent involvement set aside allocation grid will be pre-populated with the school buildings that were allocated Title I funds on the Building Allocations, Step 3 page.

Name of Site Where Services Will be Provided -- Enter the amount of Parent Involvement set aside funds that will be allocated to each Title I building listed.

Bldg #

The Building #'s for each of the Buildings as assigned by the KSDE Directory system.

Non-editable

Attendance Center

The official name of the Attendance Centers for each of the Buildings as entered in the KSDE Directory system.

Non-editable

Building Level

The category or building level for each school building as entered in the KSDE Directory system.  (Note: This is not a complete list.)

Total Allocated

Enter the amount of the Parent Involvement set aside funds that will be allocated to each Title I building listed.  Note: The 'Total Allocated' field will display the total set aside amount allocated.

Note:  Any time changes are saved, the errors section should be reviewed for additional errors.

The following are a list of errors that may appear on the 'Parent Involvement' page:

Error messages -- data will be saved on the page, but these error messages must be corrected before the application can be submitted.

Please select an option in the ‘Activities/Materials Funded with Parent Involvement Set Aside’ section.

This error will appear if the district’s Title I allocation is $500,000 or greater and there has not been at least one parent involvement activity/material selected.

--> Check the appropriate checkbox(es) for the ‘Activities/Materials Funded with Parent Involvement Set Aside’ section.

Please explain what other activities/materials will be funded with the ‘Parent Involvement’ set aside in the ‘Other’ comment box.

This error will appear if the ‘Other (Please explain)’ checkbox has been checked in the ‘Activities/Materials Funded with Parent Involvement Set Aside’ section, but there has not been an explanation entered in the ‘Other’ text box.

 

--> Enter an explanation of other Activities/Materials that will be funded with Parent Involvement set aside funds in the ‘Other’ text box.

Since you have entered a comment in the ‘Other’ comment box, you must check ‘Other’ in the ‘Activities/Materials Funded with Parent Involvement Set Aside’ section.

This error will appear if there has been an explanation entered in the ‘Other’ text box of the ‘Activities/Materials Funded with Parent Involvement Set Aside’ section, but the ‘Other (Please explain)’ checkbox has not been checked.

--> Check the ‘Other (Please explain)’ checkbox in the ‘Activities/Materials Funded with Parent Involvement Set Aside’ section.

Since you have a ‘Parent Involvement’ set aside, please enter the amount allocated for each of the appropriate building(s).

This error will appear if the district’s Title I allocation is $500,000 or greater and the parent involvement set aside has not been allocated to the Title I building(s) listed on this page.

--> Complete the parent involvement set aside building allocations section.

The total allocations for the attendance centers must be equal to or greater than the ‘Minimum Parent Involvement Set Aside’.

This error will appear if the value in the ‘Total Allocated’ field is less than the ‘Minimum Parent Involvement Set Aside’ field.

--> Adjust the values entered in the parent involvement building allocations set aside section. 

The total allocations for the attendance centers must be equal to or less than the Parent Involvement Set Aside.

This error will appear if the value in the ‘Total Allocated’ field is greater than the Parent Involvement Set Aside.

--> Adjust the values entered in the parent involvement set aside section.
